10-day Ayurveda hands-on practice program for students, offered by Dr. Venu at Shiva Ayurveda:

Objectives:

A 15-day Panchakarma training program is designed to equip participants with essential knowledge and skills. It covers the theoretical principles of Panchakarma, teaching the underlying concepts and benefits of this Ayurvedic detoxification system. Participants will learn and practice various therapies, such as Abhyanga and Shirodhara, gaining hands-on experience in administering these treatments effectively. The training includes guidance on assessing and diagnosing patient conditions to tailor appropriate therapies. Emphasis is placed on maintaining ethical and professional standards in treatment, integrating these practices into existing health frameworks, and providing post-treatment care to ensure long-term health benefits.

Course Structure:
Week 1: Introduction to Ayurveda and Panchakarma
Day 1: Introduction to Practical Ayurveda
Morning:

Orientation and introduction to the practical aspects of Ayurveda.

Afternoon:

Basic training in setting up a treatment space and preparing for therapies.

Evening:

Overview of safety protocols and hygiene practices in Ayurvedic treatments.

Day 2: Abhyanga (Ayurvedic Massage)
Morning:

Detailed demonstration of Abhyanga techniques.

Afternoon:

Hands-on practice of Abhyanga, focusing on oil application and massage strokes.

Evening:

Feedback and refinement of techniques.

Day 3: Shirodhara (Oil Therapy)
Morning:

Introduction to Shirodhara – understanding the procedure and its benefits.

Afternoon:

Practical session on setting up and performing Shirodhara.

Evening:

Supervised practice with peer feedback.

Day 4: Swedana (Herbal Steam Therapy)
Morning:

Learning the principles and benefits of Swedana therapy.

Afternoon:

Hands-on practice of administering herbal steam therapy.

Evening:

Group discussion on patient experiences and session outcomes.

Day 5: Vamana and Virechana (Detoxification Therapies)a
Morning:

Overview and demonstration of Vamana (therapeutic vomiting) and Virechana (purgation).

Afternoon:

Supervised simulation of the preparation and administration of these detox therapies.

Evening:

Reflection session on the therapeutic effects of Basti.

Day 7: Nasya (Nasal Therapy)
Morning:

Study of Nasya – techniques, preparation, and benefits.

Afternoon:

Practical session on administering Nasya therapy.

Evening:

Peer review and refinement of techniques.

Day 8: Specialized Therapies
Morning:

Introduction to specialized therapies like Kati Basti, Udwarthanam, and Pizhichil.

Afternoon:

Hands-on practice of selected specialized therapies.

Evening:

Group discussion on the therapeutic benefits and patient experiences.

Day 9: Integration and Advanced Techniques
Morning:

Advanced techniques in Ayurvedic therapy – customization for different Prakritis.

Afternoon:

Practical application of advanced techniques with case-based scenarios.

Evening:

Preparation for final assessments and personalized feedback.

Day 10: Review, Assessment, and Certification
Morning:

Review of key techniques and final hands-on assessment.

Afternoon:

Feedback session and individual consultations with Dr. Venu.

Certification ceremony and closing reflections.
